Did you know that FAFSA requires signatures?

Federal Student Aid MUST collect signatures from you and your parents (if applicable) when you file a . There are three ways to sign:

  1. You need your FSA ID (account username and password) to sign your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form electronically.
    • To sign your form electronically,  and select the 鈥淧rovide Signatures鈥 button.

Alternatively, you can choose one of the following (slower) options:

2. Print a signature page by selecting 鈥淧rint Signature Page鈥 on the 鈥淢y FAFSA鈥 or 鈥淪ignature Status鈥 page, sign it, and then mail it to the address on the page. Your FAFSA form will be processed once your signature is received.

3. Submit your FAFSA form without signatures. Your FAFSA form will be partially processed without signatures, and you will receive a FAFSA Submission Summary (FSS) within 3鈥5 days. Without your signature, a Student Aid Index (SAI) won鈥檛 be calculated, and you won鈥檛 be able to receive federal student aid. However, you may be eligible for state or local aid. In order for your FAFSA form to fully process, you鈥檒l need to return later to sign electronically.
